Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train is quite possibly one of the most successful anime films in history. Heck, it was certainly the most successful anime film in 2020. Literally no other film in that year could beat it in the box office. Admittedly, some of it might have to do with the fact that it barely had any competition that year. You know, due to a certain Covid-shaped pandemic that was going around that year? However, there’s also no denying that the anime film itself is very good. Very high-quality animation with amazing fight scenes and a very well-written story from Koyoharu Gotouge all combine for an amazing theatrical experience that certainly helped it at the box office.

In fact, that theatrical experience may be responsible for today’s bit of news. Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll have just announced that they are bringing Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train back to NA (as well as select international territories) theaters for a theatrical re-release. What’s more: the anime film’s screening will be in 4K. This will be the first time this anime film will be screened in 4K, so returning viewers can notice the jump in fidelity when they see it in theaters, no matter if they choose to view it in either Japanese audio with English subtitles or English dub.
