Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the first and the most famous of the Power Rangers franchise. As a result, it’s also the oldest. In fact, it first made its Fox Kids premiere on August 28, 1993. Thus, it’s no surprise that not many younger folks in this day and age are familiar with it. Heck, they might never have watched any episodes of the series at all despite being Power Rangers fans in general.

If you’re part of this crowd, then don’t worry. Hasbro is here to help by announcing the start of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition. Before you ask: no, this is not a remake of that first Power Rangers series. This is a straight-up re-broadcast of the series, but in a 4K remastered form. Thus, you can not only watch the Power Rangers duke it out with costumed baddies in 4K resolution, but in its original unaltered voice lines and footage to boot.

The first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition is already up on YouTube, which you can also view below. If you’re not interested in the English version, there’s also the the French, German and Spanish versions. Not only that, but Hasbro will release 2-3 episodes of this remaster weekly until October 7, 2025. With the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers having 145 episodes over 3 seasons, it just might be possible to finish up the first season that way. We will just have to see if Hasbro does the same 4K remaster for the remaining 2 seasons.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition Giving Us 4K Remaster at Long Last

I have to admit though: “Day of the Dumpster” is a most silly name for an episode.

Honestly, this is rather exciting for me, and probably quite a lot of you as well. This is basically the day Hasbro releases Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for free in 4K. It’s probably only going to be the first season for now, but who knows after that? We might very well get the other 2 seasons later, hopefully. Because, well, why bother with remastering just the first season? Tune back in to THS later to get that particular bit of Power Rangers news when we do.
