Phineas and Ferb are back to have another adventurous summer vacation on Disney Channel! That Hashtag Show was lucky enough to attend the press conference for the new season of the show! Series Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh joined the chat along with a ton of the other voice cast members. Phineas and Ferb returning has been in the works for a little bit.

Entire crew for Phineas and Ferb.

Vincent Martella has been bringing Phineas to life for so long now. David Errigo Jr. has been right by his side with Ashley Tisdale’s Candace. It’s a complete family vibe being around these actors and creatives. They’ve been at it for a while, so it makes sense that there would be this innate chemistry.

June 5 on Disney Channel is going to be a special day for so many fans out there. Seeing Phineas and Ferb returning for new episodes is going to trigger some remembrance of 2008 and everything that was going on for younger viewers at that time. Check out what the entire team had to say right here:

Phineas and Ferb Return To Keep Things Classic

Bringing this series back was an interesting question for Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire. Their biggest task was keeping all of the original DNA of the show they could. Marsh said, “We didn’t want to reinvent everything. Working fine before and we just thought we should keep doing what we’ve been doing.” Having a long-running team was definitely going to help in that regard.

“Well, we really just wanted to make more of the same show. We tried not to make it feel different, but we wanted it to have sort of a fresh energy,” Povenmire clarified. “About half the writer’s room are writers who are originally on the show and half the writers room are young writers who a lot of whom grew up watching the show.”

The creator continued, “The people have had a break from the show for a while all came in with great new ideas. There’s a bunch of stuff that was like, ‘ Oh, why didn’t we ever think of doing this back in the day?’  We’re just trying to keep the feel of the show, because that’s what I think the fans love about it.”

Keeping The Band Together Over 18 Years

Phineas and Ferb has been around long enough that you can feel this voice cast and their affection for each other. Everyone is included and enjoys the work that they do. It radiates through the show itself. Vincent Martella has been on this roller coaster for almost 20 years. His comments do a great job of putting a bow on the show’s longevity.

Martella began, “I’ve played Phineas for 17, 18 years now. So, Phineas has been a huge, huge part of my life. What’s been wonderful about this show is that it has such an incredible audience. We’ve always had reasons to play these characters again.”

“Even in the period where we stopped doing the episodes of the show and when we did the feature film in 2020, Candace Against the Universe,” he remembers. “We also did crossover episodes with Milo Murphy’s Law, where I got to play Phineas again for that. I also worked on Chibiverse, which is also on Disney. So, Phineas has never been too far away.”

“But, the first record that I ever had coming back to do new episodes of the show was definitely an emotional experience,” the voice actor shared. “I was really moved and excited because like I said, I mean 17,18 years is a really long time to do anything or know someone. I’ve known all these wonderful people I get to work with and I’ve known this character so long.”
