Pixar has found its director for The Incredibles 3! The animation studio is reportedly hiring Peter Sohn to handle the sequel for Disney according to The Hollywood Reporter. Brad Bird was the director of both previous entries in The Incredibles franchise. Sohn recently directed Elemental for Pixar and showed off his chops with that entry for Disney. This is the third installment of The Incredibles and the animation studio is hoping for big things.
Brad Bird is still writing Incredibles 3 for Pixar and serves as producer. Dana Murray will also help on the production side after making Soul for the studio. Fans learned that Disney was making Incredibles 3 during last year’s D23 Expo event. Bird is currently prepping for Ray Gunn over at Skydance, which might be the reason for the director swap. Pixar chief Pete Docter hand-selected Sohn to handle the next entry in The Incredibles franchise.
Incredibles 3 Gets Peter Sohn as New Director

Elemental was Sohn’s last time out with Pixar. Despite a slower than anticipated start in theaters, it was a respectable earner. The movie also garnered an Oscar nomination. So, Sohn is a safe pair of hands to handle Incredibles 3.
Here’s what happens in the movie! “Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.”
