Japanese animation studio david production is known for many great and high quality anime series. Their list of anime achievements include JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Animation, Cells at Work!, Fire Force, and Undead Unluck. All of which are noticeable by their high quality animation and zany, over-the-top action. And all of which basically puts the studio very high up on the list of anime studios you want to keep an eye on.
And now, it looks like they are embarking on their most ambitious project to date: their first original anime series not based on any manga. Crunchyroll is proud to announce that they will be streaming Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse as david production’s first original anime.

This original anime will feature Hideya Takahashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind; 2022’s Urusei Yatsura) as the director and the one who came up with the original concept, Fujiko Sakuno as the original story writer, Akuto Sato as the original plot writer, and Hayashi Mori (Drifting Home, Cells at Work! Code Black, Sand Land: The Series) as the composer. Said anime will make its global debut on July 2, 2025. As you can imagine, you can watch it only on Crunchyroll.
In fact, they even have an official trailer for Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse on YouTube just to tease it a bit, which you can check out below:

Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse Will Be david production’s First Original Anime
Honestly, this is quite exciting for me. It looks like david production also want to do their own take on the isekai genre, with some twists in it that will hopefully keep the anime fresh and distinct from the other isekai anime. Complete with their signature high quality animation to boot. This will definitely be one anime that will remain on my radar.
