Avengers: Doomsday filming begins today and has one fun surprise for fans. The Russo Brothers shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the set on Instagram. Marvel still has some more chairs for us. This time, it’s Victor Von Doom’s seat, and we would have to assume Robert Downey Jr. will be hanging out there today.
Marvel fans have had this movie circled since San Diego Comic-Con last year. Robert Downey Jr. strolled onto that stage in a Doctor Doom mask, and the rest is history. Kevin Feige teased that filming started today during the Thunderbolts* press conference this weekend. Things are clearly ramping into gear for the biggest crossover since Avengers: Endgame. Avengers: Doomsday Signals Next Big Marvel Crossover
Avengers: Doomsday is already being looked at as a massive fan event by people itching to see Thunderbolts*. Watchful fans are going to have to avoid some spoilers as filming finally begins. The Russo Brothers are back, and they’re teasing some pretty big developments. Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom comes with some pretty big conceptual boots to fill. Empire Magazine previously talked to the directors about their Marvel return. Inspiration hit like a flash.
“We’re very close with Kevin and Lou [D’Esposito, Marvel Studios’ Co-President] and the entire Marvel team and we’ve had conversations through the years. We’ve talked about a lot of ideas,” Anthony Russo told the magazine. “Really what happened was, we ended up stumbling upon an idea that activated all of us.
