“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”, had a franchise record opening on Memorial Day weekend. This is said to be the final installment of franchise although I wouldn’t call another film in the future “impossible”. One of the most memorable things about the franchise is it’s iconic sound, the theme song that goes hand in hand with dangerous and complicated heists that are only fit for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

With the release of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”, I spoke with the composers of the film Alfie Godfrey and Max Aruj. They talk with me about their approach to scoring what may be the last of almost 30 years of “Mission: Impossible” films and how the previous film’s sound impacted their work. They also talk about the iconic theme to the franchise and how that is incorporated into the film.
