This weekend belonged to Lilo & Stitch, which dominated the box office. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had a strong debut. Final Destination: Bloodlines, Thunderbolts*, and Sinners rounded out the top five as they continue their respective runs.
Lilo & Stitch Soars to the Top Of The Box Office

At the box office, Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch crushed expectations with a massive $145.5 million opening. Fueled by family audiences and nostalgic millennials, the remake continues Disney’s trend of high-powered live-action reimaginings. Despite mixed critical reception, its brand power and multigenerational appeal made it the clear winner of the weekend.
Mission: Impossible Keeps the Franchise Rolling

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning pulled in a solid $63.0 million, landing in second place. Tom Cruise remains a reliable box office draw, and the franchise’s momentum is still intact. While not a record-breaking debut, it’s a strong performance that positions the film well for international markets and long-term returns.
Final Destination: Bloodlines Holds Its Ground
After a strong debut, Final Destination: Bloodlines added $19.7 million this weekend, bringing its total to a respectable level. The film’s creative kills and return to classic horror tropes have resonated with fans, both new and old. Its performance underscores the continued strength of horror as a box office staple.
Thunderbolts* and Sinners Slide Out of the Box Office Spotlight
Thunderbolts* brought in $9.2 million, a steep drop from its earlier momentum. Marvel’s attempt at a grittier ensemble piece has struggled to find its footing with mainstream audiences. It’s a sign that the brand’s sheen may finally be wearing thin. Sinners, meanwhile, earned $8.8 million, continuing its modest run. The adult crime drama still draws a niche audience but has clearly peaked.
Will Karate Kid: Legends Pack A Punch?
Karate Kid: Legends is forecasted to earn anywhere from $16 million to $25 million. With Cobra Kai earning positive fan buzz, this could translate into a strong box office success. The movie hasn’t performed well in pre-sales, but the movie could do well with regard to family-driven business and walk-in business. While the movie is tracking for a lower haul than originally expected, I still think it could bring in $20 million
As always, we’ll find out how the box office shapes up next week.
