Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is in the books. Marvel set the stage for an explosive sophomore campaign. Maybe more than any other modern Disney television show, Daredevil: Born Again has leaned into a multi season structure and it shows the way forward for Marvel television.
Die hard fans in the medium have no doubt read about the structural retooling of Daredevil: Born Again from the trades and other various news sources., for fans who might not be as engrossed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe it stands to reason that Daredevil: Born Again was just a reintroduction to Charlie Cox and the world of the street level Marvel Heroes.
It’s been some years since Netflix aired the original Daredevil series and a massive fan campaign led the way for the show to be revived on Disney+ inside of the MCU. Online, this led to many fans having doubts about Marvel Studios’ ability to capture the tone and scope, and the depth of the original show. But as the concluding chapters of the first season show, they’re going to be just fine.

I dare say, showing someone Daredevil and the Punisher wreaking havoc on Mayor Fisk’s rogue police task force would have brought a smile and maybe even tears to the eyes of multiple fans of the Netflix show. Daredevil always works best when it centers around Charlie Cox’s performance is Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s genre-defining turn as Wilson Fisk AKA The Kingpin.
Daredevil: Born Again’s last entries have now underlined that central struggle as the series moves forward. Muse was billed as a bit of a villain for this series. However, you had to know that this was going to come down to Kingpin and Daredevil at some point.
Daredevil: Born Again Gets Its Ducks In A Row For Season 2
Through half of this season the conversation around Daredevil: Born Again centered around the creative retooling for Marvel Television. No longer were things going to be tied to a 6 to 9 episode solo series where the story would begin and end in the confines of that run. Daredevil: Born Again has a lot more room to breathe and knows it. The show is taking full liberties by making sure you get all the pieces on the board for this Devil’s Reign-lite storyline for season two.
(It’s this writer’s opinion that the other Marvel Studios projects on television could use the same long leash that this series enjoyed. Eighteen episodes off the rip with an instant renewal, before an episode even premieres? Must be nice!)

Yet and still, things have truly gone to H E double hockey sticks in a handbasket. Fisk now has complete control of the city. He instituted martial law and has a rogue band of armed thugs at his disposal. Daredevil has clearly been defeated. Punisher is in a prison in Red Hook, that functions something like a pirate’s den, where the laws of the United States government do not apply. Oh yeah, and the entire city’s demoralized because of everything that’s gone down.
Bullseye is still out there at large. All of Matt’s loved ones are reeling after the events of the last 48 hours., Daredevil offers a message of peace and resilience in this trying time for New York City. As was uttered in this episode, they’re going to need an army. (Could we end up seeing more of The Defenders? Why stop dreaming now? It’s not like wishing on a star has gone very badly for the “Save Daredevil” set.
Season 2 Is On The Way & Fans Are Energized

Showrunner Dario Scardapane wrote on social media earlier today that you can expect Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to hit Disney+ in March of 2026. If you’ve been following along on the internet, they’ve already been filming a lot of the pieces for that season and work seems to be going well.
All that talk of retooling is long behind this production. They have the full green light to go ahead with whatever Justin Benson and Aaron Morehead have planned. The duo talked to my friend Brandon Davis over at Phase Hero about the plans for season two. Seems like they’ve got this whole thing mapped out.
Daredevil: Born Again has been a bit of a pipe dream for people out there for years. Now, with the full season in-hand, the future for Charlie Cox’s Avenger looks bright. (Hysterically, will he make the cut for Avengers: Doomsday?) Too early to tell. But, it’s hard to be too upset with anything that’s gone down so far!
We’ve got almost too much Marvel going on here at That Hashtag Show.
