Jessica Jones, meet Disney+.

Daredevil: Born Again season two will see Krysten Ritter return as Jessica Jones. Ritter starred as Jones in the Netflix series in the mid-2010s and is now coming back to reprise her role. She’s been on a big run garnering awards and critical acclaim since her time on Jessica Jones, The Defenders, and Daredevil. The casting announcement was made during Disney’s Upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday.

Ritter joined Charlie Cox on stage for the reveal. Born Again is bringing in the characters of the Netflix universe of shows and mixing them with current day MCU stylings. Daredevil: Born Again has been a successful launch on Disney+ that’s even brought up the streaming numbers of the old shows.

Here’s what Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Television and Animation, had to say about the show.

“People were watching it as a season four, not at as a first season. It’s given us the confidence of making the show annually into the future.”

This now brings up the question about if the entire Defenders roster will make the jump to Disney+. Luke Cage and Iron Fist are still on the sidelines currently. Season two of Daredevil: Born Again will pick up after the cliffhanger in season one.

Marvel recently took a deep look at their TV roster of shows and recalibrated. Born Again was the first wave of that recalibration. They have Ironheart coming up this summer and Wonder Man coming later this year.
