Liza Colón-Zayas is joining the cast of the upcoming Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The fourth installment of the current Spider-Man franchise for Marvel and Sony Pictures is adding The Bear actress, according to Deadline.

She joins the cast led by Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man. In addition to him, Sadie Sink is on board in a mystery role. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who play MJ and Ned, are expected to return.

Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film from Marvel Studios, and it’ll be produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige. Production begins later this year and it’s set for theaters on July 31st, 2026.

It’ll be the first Spider-Man film in theaters since Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. That movie marked a bright spot for the box office in a time of turmoil after the COVID-19 pandemic. It made upwards of $1.9 billion at the box office.

There are no plot details at this time, but if it follows No Way Home, it marks a return to anonymity for Peter Parker after the entire world found out about his alter ego. He closed the rift in space and universes, but had to make the entire world forget who he is, including his friends.

This recent run of Spider-Man movies have all been box office juggernauts for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures increasing their box office totals for each movie released.
