It’s been nearly two years since Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning hit theaters. At the time of its release, the seventh installment of the beloved franchise was labeled “Part One.” However, due to factors such as lower-than-expected box office numbers, Part Two was renamed to Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The use of “final” has many fans wondering if this is the end of the franchise. While the Mission: Impossible movies have never had post-credit scenes, you might be tempted to sit through the credits. After all, is this really the end?

There are zero spoilers for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ahead, so feel free to keep reading if you haven’t seen the film…

DOES MI8 HAVE A POST-CREDITS SCENE?

When it comes to big blockbusters, post-credits scenes have become the norm thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning does not have a post-credit scene. We won’t confirm or deny if the film feels like a franchise ending, but you don’t have to sit through the credits waiting for more. However, we also wouldn’t discourage you from cheering on the names of the many people who worked on the film. Considering some of the filming conditions for MI8 were intense, everyone who made this movie possible deserves some praise.

IS THE NEW MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE WORTH SEEING IN THEATERS?

Tom Cruise has been playing Ethan Hunt ever since Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible hit theaters in 1996. Over the last 30 years, Cruise has continued to up the ante with each installment. In fact, the actor has become known for doing his own wild and crazy stunts. Those stunts have only gotten bigger since Christopher McQuarrie took over directing the franchise ten years ago. If you’re a fan of spectacle, you’ll want to see Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on the biggest screen possible.

The newest Mission: Impossible has the franchise’s lowest Rotten Tomatoes score since Mission: Impossible III was released in 2006. However, the movie is still “Certified Fresh” and has many positive reviews. That Hashtag Show‘s Hunter Bolding gave the movie an 84% and admits the movie “has issues,” but says it’s “thrilling” and “tense.” While it may not be as strong as previous installments, it was meant to be seen in IMAX.
