Witches? Get ready. Practical Magic 2 is on its way from Warner Bros.. The new film already has Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman back on board but now they’re adding a younger witch to the spell. According to THR, Joey King is in talks to join the sequel to the 1998 movie.

Susanne Bier, who directed the post-apocalyptic Bird Box is on board to direct. Practical Magic 2 has a release date of September 18th, 2026.

Bullock and Kidman are reprising their roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens. In the original film, they fought a family curse that dispatches men with whom they fall in love. It was based on the novel by Alice Hoffman and brought up themes of sisterhood, empowerment, and had some comedy and supernatural thrills added in for good measure.

King is on board to play one of Kidman’s daughters in the film, who discovers the dark family secrets and her own powers, taking the family into a crisis.

Akiva Goldman co-wrote the first film and is returning to co-write the sequel with Georgia Pritchett. Bullock and Kidman are also producing the film.

Joey King became a household name thanks to a role in the Kissing Booth movies. She also has starred in Bullet Train, The Princess, The Act, and Uglies. She also voiced a character in Descpicable Me 4. She’s a rising star in Hollywood and this role shows that.
