DC fans, the daughter of Wonder Woman is here. Created by Tom King and Belen Ortega, TRINITY: DAUGHTER OF WONDER WOMAN #1 flew into today’s new comic book releases. This six-issue miniseries starts out with a cute but emotional issue #1.  I would like to thank DC for giving me access to this first issue to review. You can check out my non-spoiler thoughts on this issue below.

TRINITY: DAUGHTER OF WONDER WOMAN #1 – The Review

We are back again with another comic book review. For those unfamiliar with my reviews, I follow what I call the Three Ss: Simple, Short, and Spoiler-Free. Today, we are looking at TRINITY: DAUGHTER OF WONDER WOMAN #1. While this comic feels like it is written for a younger generation of readers, it still hit me hard in a few areas. We are quickly introduced to Trinity Lizzie Prince, as she stumbles into so trouble. What she does during that trouble is what gives us a cute, fun, and sad story at the same time. We learn that Trinity is sad because she can’t find her father. Well, to solve the problem, she decides to jump to different time lines, and trying to find her father isn’t the only issue that arises.

Not to get into too much, I don’t want to spoil things, but writer Tom King was able to put a lot of emotion in only a few pages. While the story was fun and full of laughter, there were moments when your heart broke, especially when Lizzie realized she might never find her father. But there were also some great teaching points in this story on what to do if you’re sad; and sorry, I’m going to have a little spoiler here, if you are sad… just find a corgi.

TRINITY: DAUGHTER OF WONDER WOMAN #1

The art in this story was very well done. Belén Ortega did an amazing job and made this story easy to follow. His use of colors and details helped you feel everything that was happening in each panel.

Overall, TRINITY: DAUGHTER OF WONDER WOMAN #1 was a great read. But there were a couple of things I struggled with. One, I love a lot of action in my reads, but the story did help me overcome some of that. The other thing is that there is a lot of jumping around in this book. To me, it was almost too much; it was like having a bunch of mini-stories with the main story. Don’t worry, though; these couple of things do not take away from the emotional rollercoaster you will ride in this first issue.
