One of the year’s hottest releases is finally here and we’re all over it. This week’s What We’re Watching here on That Hashtag Show puts the spotlight on Sinners and a host of other quality shows and movies. If you’re not about the blood and gore, there’s plenty to explore. So, let’s get into it!
Sinners – In Theaters Now

Ryan Coogler is back and he brought Michael B. Jordan with him. Along with a wildly talented cast, the director explores horror in the American South. It’s devastating and moving in equal measure. On social media, Sinners has been making the rounds because of a viral interview Coogler did with Kodak. Multiple different film experiences. IMAX, 70mm and even plain on screenings are out there. Our Hunter Bolding loved Sinners!
The Wedding Banquet – in Theaters Friday
Andrew Ahn’s redux of The Wedding Banquet hits theaters this week. Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han Gi-Chan, Boli, Camille Atebe and more all star in this comedy. Our protagonist Min commits to a rom-com classic agreement. I’ll pretend to have a wedding with you in exchange for a green card. Chaos ensues when his grandmother insists on a big traditional to-do for the occasion. High marks from me!
WrestleMania – Streaming on Peacock
Ah yes, the granddaddy of them all. The showcase of the Immortals is back and in Las Vegas this time around. WWE has taken over the city with multiple events and a compelling two night event at the center of all the hubbub. Night one is anchored by a triple threat match with Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins. More intriguing, is WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes taking on a bad guy John Cena in front of a packed crowd that doesn’t know what’s going to happen,
Doctor Who – Streaming on Disney+

The Doctor is back for more. Ncuti Gatwa is back to charm viewers in Doctor Who Season 2. (Don’t worry about that numbering system.) Series helmer Russell T. Davies has even more intricate plans for the actors second stint as The Doctor. There are living cartoons, aliens and paradoxes galore. Varada Sethu is the new companion for Gatwa. The first two episodes were really strong.
The Order – Streaming on Hulu
An action movie with the soul of a prestige drama, the order comes to us from last year. To law plays Terry Husk, a veteran FBI agent Investigating a string of violent robberies in the Pacific Northwest. Through his surveillance he uncovers a white supremacist plot to overthrow the federal government and has to stop that in its tracks. Might have missed this one the first time around but it’s worth a look. Give it a try!
Government Cheese – Streaming on Apple TV+
Hampton Chambers is in hot water again. Fresh off a stint in prison, he’s looking to reconnect with his family and go on the straight and narrow. Unfortunately for our protagonist, things are rarely that easy. There are high stakes moments with mobsters, family drama and a couple of lasso along the way. David Oyelowo stars in this one.
Eephus – Streaming on Prime Video
If you’re looking for an oddball comedy, you come to the right place. Eephus stars Keith William Richards, Frederick Wiseman, Cliff Blake, Ray Herb, and Bill “Spaceman” Lee. In the distant past of 1990, a small Massachusetts town sees its old baseball field become a victim of modernization. This is an adult comedy so there’s plenty of funny little crude humor and a lot of laughs to be had. These older men remember their glory days on that field and they want to relive it one last time.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes- Streaming on Crunchyroll
Just a follow up to one of the most genre-defining anime of the last 10 years. Crunchyroll presents My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. It’s an anime prequel to the events of the main series. Meet college student Koichi Haimawari, a disciple of Knuckleduster who gets brought on to work with him as a vigilante. While long-time My Hero Academia viewers might get something extra from this, anime fans of all stripes will probably enjoy themselves.
