The real summer box office is officially piping hot and it’s time for another weekend of What We’re Watching here on That Hashtag Show. This week, Josh Hartnett takes to the skies for a delightful trip to Pain-sville. A clown gets loose in a cornfield and things are not so great for unsuspecting travelers. There’s just a time to watch both at home and in theaters, so let’s get into it!
Fight or Flight – In Theaters Today

Where were you when the Josh Hartnett Renaissance began? This week, Fight or Flight sees the fan-favorite actor taking on all comers in a wild action romp. Partner plays a mercenary lured back into “the life” when she gets to a mysterious hall about protecting a target on a plane. There, chaos ensues and we’re all better for it. Do you feel like there’s never been more of these mid-budget action movies just think your teeth into. Thank God!
Clown in a Cornfield – In Theaters Today – Clown Gets Loose

I am beyond tempted to write: “look at the title.” and leave it at that. Horror fans have been living it up with all of these releases lately. There’s a little something for the nostalgia hounds (Final Destination: Bloodlines) and artsy folks (Sinners.) Clown in a Cornfield is a throwback to the 90s era of “Gee this premise sounds cool, probably a good film in there!” You’ll enjoy it if you dig horror.

Friendship – In Theaters Today
Can I interest you in a buddy comedy starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd? Well, Friendship is that… but, it’s also kind of tense as well? Robinson plays a guy who is pretty perpetually alone, and encouraged to go towards a bond with a neighbor. I Think You Should Leave fashion, things just go off the rails. High recommendation on this one, very unique.

Nonnas – Streaming on Netflix
Happy Mother’s Day! Vince Vaughn Plays an Italian-American restaurateur who misses his grandmother. Opening a restaurant featuring her homemade recipes is an antidote to his loneliness. Who better to come in there and bring those dishes to life than Italian grandmothers? This one’s sweet and funny, and perfect timing on the calendar. Give it a watch.
Forever– Streaming on Netflix

This one has been on my list for months now! Forever is an adaptation of Judy Bloom’s classic coming of age novel. Netflix has adapted this wonderful story with showrunner Mara Brock Akil. The setting is 2018 Los Angeles with black teens Keisha and Justin. First love is often emotional on screen, and forever does all of these shows so right.
Poker Face Season 2 – Streaming on Peacock
Natasha Lyonne’s modern Columbo is back. Season 2 of the hit Peacock series sees even more guest stars entering the picture. Yes, funny friends like John Mulaney, Sam Richardson, Sherry Cola and Kumail Nanjiani are all scheduled to show up in Poker Face Season 2. The first salvo of episodes was a delightful watch and this is no different!
Octopus – Streaming on Prime Video
Phoebe Waller-Bridge came down from her lofty perch holding a strange little two-part docuseries for Prime Video. I’ve always thought Octopus were kind of cool. This weird tale only confirms that. The Octopus is a smart animal and this documentary takes after its subject in a real way. There’s Tracy Morgan and hysterical asides. Sometimes, you’re just really delighted by something that catches you completely off-guard.
Long Way Home – Streaming on Apple TV+
Long Way Home features Ewan Mcgregor, on an extended road trip. The Star Wars actor and Charlie Bornman traveled from Scotland to England, taking the scenic route the entire way. I always include a piece of fun, lighter viewing in these rundowns. And this is just that! Our world is vast, and there’s so much to see. Long Way Home captures that kind of wonder in all that countryside.
