“The Gang Turns 20.” The Paley Center for Media announced a celebration of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with a special anniversary event.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 20th Anniversary Celebration will feature a screening of the season 17 premiere, along with a conversation with the cast and executive producers. The event will take place at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles on July 1.
“Since 2005, ‘the gang’ from Paddy’s Pub have entertained legions of passionate fans with their high-spirited antics, and we look forward to a fun-filled evening that is sure to be as hilarious as the show itself,” said Maureen J. Reidy, President & CEO of The Paley Center for Media. “We would like to extend our tremendous thanks to FX Networks for their continued support and partnership.”
Taking the stage at the Paley event for the series will be Rob McElhenney (“Ronald ‘Mac’ MacDonald” and executive producer); Charlie Day (“Charlie Kelly” and executive producer); Glenn Howerton (“Dennis Reynolds” and executive producer); Kaitlin Olson (“Dee Reynolds”); and Danny DeVito (“Frank Reynolds”).
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia holds the record as the longest-running live-action comedy series in TV history. In the last two decades, the show has built a loyal fanbase, airing 170 episodes to date.
Tickets for the anniversary event are on sale now for Paley President’s Circle, Patron Circle, and Partner Members. Paley Individual, Family, and Supporting Members can grab tickets starting June 5 at noon PST. Finally, the general public can get tickets starting June 6 at noon PST. Prior to the It’s Always Sunny event, fans can view past episodes at the Paley Archive in the Beverly Hills Public Library.
Season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres on FX July 5.
